
Kiptum was today laid to rest as athletes and Kenyans showed their last respect.
Kenyan president William Ruto, his deputy Rigathi Gachagua were present in the funeral. Kenyan Sports Cabinet Secretary Hon. Ababu Namwamba was seen condoling with Kiptum’s son at the event. Ruto Promised a new house, job and five milion to Kiptum’s widow and family.

In his speech World Athletics President Sebastian Coe shared his grief and sadness. “A young life ends so soon, and in such a devastating way, is and of itself enough cause to grief. That a young life that had in so few years scaled the highest peaks of athletic achievement is prevented from even greator exploits is a cause of intense sad,”Said Coe.
“Kelvin, you will be missed. Our grief and sadness will take time to dissipate. Rest assured your achievements are treasured, indelible and secure in the annals of our history and never, ever forgotten.” He added.
Present also was the president of Athletics Kenya Jackson Tuwei. Tuwei announced that Golazo, a company specializing in athletes mangement, is launching the Kelvin Kiptum Foundation which will predominantly provide continued financial support for education and infrastructure.

Kiptum’s widow, Asenath Cheruto mourned her husband with a moving speech expressing her regret that they didn’t get the opportunity to have their wedding ceremony party which was scheduled for April this year.
One figure was missing though, Kipchoge was no see as social media pressure mounts on him.
