The French side are in the quarter-finals of this season’s competition and have been drawn against Benfica. They also enjoy a 10 point clear of PSG at the top with 14 wins and one draw in 15 games.

With her significant and flexible 4-3-3 formation Chelsea sees her as the suitable candidate to replace the USWNT bound Emma Hayes.

Bompastor has won 8 league titles and 2 Champions League as a player with 156 times caps by the France National Team.

If appointed she’s supposed to continue with Hayes legacy which has been remarkable since 2012. She has won 6 WSL titles, 5 FA cups, 2 FA Women’s League Cups, 1 FA Women’s Spring series and a community shield.

Chelsea has reached the finals and semi finals of the Women’s Champions League in the past 2 years falling short of Barcelona in both occasions.

Emma was awarded OBE last year for her services to football.  She also enjoys an MBE recieved in 2016.

Chelsea did agree to only hire a woman coach in place of Emma Hayes.
