Chelsea loanee Ian Maatsen has been named Bundesliga Rookie Of The Month after a firing start.
The Holland defender competed against Xavi Simons and Maxmillian Beier of Hoffenheim.
In his statement Edin Terzic Dortmund’s coach compared Maatsen to Raphael Guerrero who could play from LB to midfield.
With his high line technique, Ian Maatsen has fitted well in Dortmund style of play starting all matches since his arrival.
To cement his start the Left Back made an assist yesterday against freiburg, hitting the woodwork too.
